About Repoussé Work
Repoussé is an ancient method of working with metal sheet. On
our Cityboy Forge belt buckles, we use repoussé as a way to decorate
your buckle. Using simple tools and jeweler's hammers, we raise, into
three dimensions, the decorations from flat sheet
metals such as copper, brass and sterling silver.
Since we never use forms
or shaping dies, each repoussé piece is genuinely singular.
In the photos above, the "SC" letters are done in copper repoussé,
and the brown trout is done in sterling silver repoussé.
